PROPULSION DEPARTMENT

The Propulsion Department is responsible for designing, building, and testing the rocket engines that make flight possible. Our main goal is to develop and innovate reliable and efficient propulsion systems that provide the thrust needed to lift the rocket safely off the ground and reach mission objectives.

Engines & Testing

This involves designing manufacturing and innovating new solid rocket motor designs from composite cases, kevlar liners, in house machining of exotic materials to a simple 3d printed inhibitor. The team focuses on optimizing engine performance, ensuring combustion stability, and maintaining safety during both ground and flight operations. Propulsion also collaborates closely with the structures dept for motor integration, avionics to help with testing equipment and recovery to make sure we can retrieve the motor

In short, the propulsion team is the driving force behind every launch — turning chemical energy into motion and powering our mission to reach new heights in student rocketry.
